Demodara Naulla village is located in the middle of two rivers flowing through a scenic range in the Ella Divisional Secretariat Division in the Badulla District of the Uva Province. This area is called “Demodara” which means the place where two rivers meet. The dawn of this village, which dates back to centuries, was born in the early 1940s with the construction of a small awasaya by the Ven.
He worked tirelessly to nurture the virtues of the villagers and to make them virtuous. He worked tirelessly to achieve this goal and started a small branch college in 1940 as a temple school. (Pansal Viduhala) Mr. Ranhami has the distinction of being the first Principal of this school named ‘Sirinivasa Vidyalaya’. The starting number of students in the school is 32. In addition to the principal, another teacher was involved in educating the children at the beginning.

Naulla a New School

The main problem that arose in trying to later develop the college into a full-fledged college was the lack of a specific territory belonging to the school itself. Realizing the importance of education for the children of the area in such a situation, the then philanthropists of Demodara Naulla area, Mr. P.H. Carolis de Silva and Mr. S. M. Ganathige donates a portion of his land to the school without expecting any money or profit.
After acquiring a specific land belonging to the school itself, the school began to develop systematically with physical as well as human resources. the college which was started as a temple school was upgraded on 05.06.1941 as a new Swabhasha mixed school name by the government as B / Nulla Vidyalaya.

The late fifties were another significant period for B/ Naulla College, the first government institution established in the Naulla area to nurture the wisdom of the children and to pave their way forward. On 25.10.1957, the then Member of Parliament C. T. Kotelawala and T. Frenando One such event was the inauguration of the new school building and the new playground at college.
Many principals have served in the school at different times and all of them have the same objective of improving the school. One of them was the promotion of Naulla Vidyalaya to a Naulla Maha Vidyalaya on 01.01.1962 with the strong commitment of the Principal Mr. William Sinho who came to the school on 01.06.1959.
With this situation, the GCE (A / L) Commencement of Arts and Commerce classes. As a result, the doors of the university are carefully opened to the children of Demodara Naulla, a rural village in those days, to the delight of teachers as well as parents.

From a Golden age to a National School

However, the school’s golden age is marked by history. Mr. D.M.P. Dissanayake served as the Principal in the nineteen seventies and eighties. Naulla Maha Vidyalaya is one of the most popular schools in the Badulla District at this time. Students from the surrounding areas as well as students from far and wide have come to B/Naulla College to receive their education. At that time the total number of students in the school was about one thousand five hundred and the teaching staff who provided the education was about thirty. During this period on 14.02.1975 the school GCE (A / L) Science is suggested by the education authorities who were working in the area at that time to be suitable for starting mathematics classes. At the same time, children in all arts, commerce, science and mathematics enter university education, earning respect for the school and the area, and as a result, becoming a highly educated area in the area.
Another significant achievement of B / Naulla Maha Vidyalaya, which is progressing towards such gradual development, is that on 29.03.1994 the then Minister of Education, Hon. W.G.M. Lokubandara B/Naulla Maha Vidyalaya was upgraded as a National School by With this situation, the school can be seen to be developing well in terms of physical resources as well as human resources.
B/ Naulla Central College has now become a perfect school with all the facilities such as libraries, computer labs, playgrounds, laboratories etc. which are essential in improving the educational standard of the children. The current principal of the school is an alumnus of the school. Under the guidance and supervision of Mr. D.M. Chandrasena, the school is making good progress. However, due to the rapid development of the area, the students of the area are now facing the threat of being drawn to the schools in the city. Naulla Mother will be living in Badulla, Uva Province for a long time to come, producing useful citizens for the country.
